How to avoid malfunctions of butterfly valves during use

Butterfly valve is a widely used valve that originated in the 1930s. It is a 90 degree switch or a valve that regulates flow. Due to its simple structure, small size, light weight, and simple operation, butterfly valves are widely used in many working conditions.

The connection methods of butterfly valves include flange connection, wafer type connection, welding connection, etc. Different materials can also be selected according to different working conditions. The butterfly valves can be made of cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, etc. It is inevitable that faults may occur during use, so how should we try to avoid them during the use of butterfly valves?

Precautions for installation and use of butterfly valves:

1. Before installation, confirm whether the performance of our factory's products and the flow direction arrow of the medium match the operating conditions, and clean the valve chamber. It is not allowed to have impurities or foreign objects attached to the sealing ring and butterfly plate. It is not allowed to close the butterfly plate before cleaning to avoid damaging the sealing ring.

2. It is recommended to use a dedicated flange for disc valve installation, namely HGJ54-91 socket welded steel flange.

3. The installation position in the pipeline is vertical and cannot be inverted.

4. During use, the flow needs to be adjusted and controlled by a worm gear box.

5. Check that all connecting parts are required to be tightly pressed to ensure the sealing of the packing and ensure the flexible rotation of the valve stem.

6. Metal sealed butterfly valve products are not suitable for installation at the end of the pipeline. If they are to be installed at the end of the pipeline, it is necessary to install the outlet flange to prevent the sealing ring from accumulating and exceeding its position.

7. For butterfly valves with more opening and closing times, open the worm gear case cover in about two months, check whether the grease is normal, and keep a proper amount of grease.

8. The installation and use of valve stems should be regularly checked for valve effectiveness, and any faults found should be promptly eliminated.
